The Oil Lamp-Special Revelation

I am surrounded by many friends who have what I call a ?direct connection? to The Father. They hear God speak, they speak to God in a special prayer language, they are entrusted with prophecy, they receive words of knowledge and they pray for others and healing occurs. One friend has even been given a download for twelve transformational novels. I want what they have. And so for the last few years they have surrounded me praying for this baptism of Holy fire. Nothing happened.

I went for healing for my broken brain. A car accident in 2006 induced a head injury that took away my ability to make a living and continues to give me fits and challenges. A lot like Paul?s thorn in the side, day after day I can?t remember names, faces, or conversations but it is clear that God has ordained me to be a connector of people. So in spite of myself and my inability to remember if I even know you, I connect people to each other from Indiana to Uganda and in the most amazing ways.

Things the Father Wants Me to Know

It was a slow prayer day in the healing room at Revive The World when seven women surrounded me and began to pray. Three of them knew me and four did not.For two hours, they spoke over me so many things the Father wanted me to know. Amazing signs and wonders. For me, really? And as I began to question how any of this could be possible, one of them said, ?do not fret over how this will come to be. When you are ready, The Father will show you. And until that time comes, just believe and know how much the Father loves you. He sees that special box you have kept hidden and he wants to assure you He sees it and will fill it.”

And for the next year, I tentatively believed that I had the power they assured me flowed through me. When they said I would have access to the storehouses of heaven and could call down body parts needed for healing, I just did it. Clumsy in my words, while a dear friend fought pneumonia in the fight for his life, I called out new lungs. The next thing I see, he is out of the hospital riding through the pasture checking on the cows. Hundreds of people prayed for him, but I am going to simply believe, he has a new working set of lungs because he needed a miracle and it was given through God?s power because I asked.

I have seen a multi-cultural ministry take form. More often than not, I am the only white face in the room. Those women said ?you do not see color. You have a calm spirit and people trust you and will reach out to you. You are unique in your outward appearance and this is used to attract people to you. Even this nail polish has the gold you will extract out of people. You will show them their value and you will bring forth gold from others.

Adventures with God

I was assured ?the best is yet to come. You will see the rest of your life as an incredible adventure with God.? Hmmm that was my very first blog site ?Adventures with God.

A year later (to the exact day) I was invited to a church in Mars Hill The Upper Room to hear a pastor I had never met speak on the gifts of the prophetic. He was at the end of his sermon and he sought me out.Do you journal?? The friends with me just laughed as they know I am a writer.God is going to speak to you and give you in writing the things you are to give to the body of Christ. You have that. Inside of you. There is light inside of you. I am actually going to give you what He is about to do. I am going to tell you what you are going to write about. You will write about the story of the 10 virgins. You will write about the oil and the lamps. The Lord will give you special revelation of this story and an understanding of what it means in the end times.? He went on to assure me that my journaling will reach heaven and he said Jesus reads my writing to the angels. And I say that is good because no one on earth reads anything I write. He commented on my peaceful yet somber spirit assuring me not to underestimate the anointing on my life.Woman of God, you are called to something amazing.

So this is the backstory of the prophecy and what follows is how the special revelation took place.

A Facebook Post to Deliver Prophecy

It was the night of the wild winter windstorm, February 24, 2019. My writer friend Jeff Cambridge made a Facebook post with a picture of an oil lamp saying ?oil lamp for light and wood stove for heat. Live simply and you don?t need electricity. Power outage in Brown County.? (He is that spirit filled Christian friend who lives in Nashville who received a download from the Lord of twelve books of transformational fiction.)

No Idea What I Was Talking About

We go on to have an exchange. I told him I was going to use his picture as illustration for the story of the 10 virgins. I did not realize he had failed to read the prophecy that I shared with him. Did I tell you that no one reads my stuff?? I can?t even get my Christian spirit-filled writer friend to read a prophecy I had received directly from God! We converse up until the point I realize he has no idea what I am talking about. I re-sent to him the prophesy delivered in The Upper Room in Mars Hill. Whoa when he finally reads it and realizes he is fulfilling the ?special revelation? to the story.

The story of the Ten Virgins, Mathew 25:1-13, is a parable Jesus used to warn listeners to be spiritually prepared for his second coming and judgement. Jesus was the great storyteller, often sharing a simple story to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.

Matthew 25:1-13?New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

25??At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like?ten virgins who took their lamps?and went out to meet the bridegroom.2?Five of them were foolish and five were wise.3?The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.4?The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.5?The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.6??At midnight the cry rang out: ?Here?s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!7??Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.8?The foolish ones said to the wise, ?Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.?9??No,? they replied, ?there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.?10??But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.11??Later the others also came.Lord, Lord,? they said, ?open the door for us!12??But he replied, ?Truly I tell you, I don?t know you.?13??Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Special Revelation…by Jeff Cambridge

The oil represents ?the oil of Christ,? the Spirit of God that we are anointed with when we receive Christ as Savior. The jars represent our ?jars of clay? or earthly vessels that we are to fill with the oil of Christ, the Holy Spirit. Our vessels run dry when we do not continually replenish them with our continual and intimate relationship with Christ. When we are in relationship with Christ, we are ?tapped into Him. The ?wick? represents our ?tapping into Christ.? When our wick becomes short due to ?burn out,? it is because we are not relying on Christ?s strength to endure us.

?Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit? (Zechariah 5:6 NKJV). Bible Notes (Zec. 4:6)? It is only through God?s Spirit that anything of lasting value is accomplished. In the ?Vision of the Lampstand and Olive Trees? (Zechariah 4) there are ?two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains? (Zec. 4:12). In Zechariah 3:8? ?For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH [The Messiah]. Tapped into the olive BRANCH we have a ?steady supply of oil, signifying that God?s power would be reflected in the light? (Bible Notes Zec. 4:2, 3).

Ten (10) Wise and Foolish Virgins

Virgins signifies those who are acceptable (not adulterated, worshiping no one or nothing other than God) to the Bridegroom, those not ?wed to the world.

10 signifies testimony, law, responsibility and the completeness of order.

5 symbolizes God’s grace, goodness and favor toward humans. The Ten Commandments contains two sets of 5 commandments. The first five commandments are related to our treatment and relationship with God, and the last five concern our relationship with others humans.

Acceptable at the End of Days

Original Painting-Sandy Storey-Moon

The five wise virgins are those people acceptable to the Bridegroom to be one with Him in heaven at the End of Days when the door is shut and no one else can enter. These five wise virgins were obedient to the First and greatest Commandment? ?Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind? ?that represents the first five commandments that are related to our treatment and relationship with God. If one keeps the First and greatest Commandment, then they will not violate the first five commandments.Their ?jars,? their earthly vessels were filled with the oil of Christ, the Holy Spirit, and continually replenished because they were tapped into the olive BRANCH. One is not able to ?share the oil of their relationship with Christ? as a means of giving another a relationship with Christ.

Tapped Into Christ

That relationship must come directly from the person being tapped into Christ; they must have and grow their own relationship with Christ. The wise virgins did not bring spare wicks because they did not need to be concerned about their relationship with Christ burning out because of the endless supply of oil from the olive BRANCH that sustained them.

Once we have a relationship with Christ we must grow in that relationship. That growth in relationship is symbolized by a wick that grows from the top to the bottom of the oil lamp reservoir that is filled completely with Christ.

God as Illustrator

Jeff’s Facebook post told a personal story of how his wick was about to burn out and he could not find his spare. My amazement the day following the power outage (when my wick ?burned out? because its end in the oil could not reach the top of the oil because the lamp was not filled to the brim) was that when I filled the lamp with oil to the brim, I found the next morning that the wick had ?grown? to reach the bottom of the oil lamp. I am certain when the wick went out that it did not reach the oil. I verified that with a flashlight, but I could not find the spare wick, so I did my only other option to find my jar of oil and fill the lamp to the brim.

Are You a Foolish Virgin?

The five foolish virgins represent the last five commandments that concern our relationship with other humans that are represented by the second greatest commandment? ?Love your neighbor as yourself. If one loves their neighbor as their self, they will not violate the last five commandments. Jesus makes the connection between the two commandments in the New Testament with the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament by finishing with this? ?On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets? (Matthew 22:36-40).

Priorities Flipped

The five foolish virgins were more concerned with their relationship with others rather than their relationship with God or their jars would have been filled with oil. They had their priorities flipped. The five wise virgins knowing that a relationship with Jesus is an intimate connection and cannot be shared sent them to ?people? (since it was people that the five foolish virgins had their priority relationships with) so that they could ?buy? oil. The five foolish virgins would have light if they bought oil, but not the ?light of Jesus? because it was bought from people and not tapped from the BRANCH [Christ]. That is why Jesus said, I do not know you. Jesus did not ?know? (have an intimate relationship with) their ?light? because their light was of this world (bought from people).

Moral of the parable? Stay tapped into the everlasting relationship with Christ by growing an intimate relationship with Him and you will never need to worry about your light going out.
